I'm not sure I worded the question right, but this is what I mean:Lately I've been thinking of doing one of those classic animal tooth/claw sort of necklaces(planning to do one with an orca tooth). But I was wondering...In Native American culture, or any other for that matter, are there any animals that it's disrespectful to use for jewelry?

because the answer is different for every culture (including the hundreds of Native cultures), the most respectful thing to do would be to discover what is correct for your people. If you were wearing something of your culture, that my culture would find offensive, I would not be offended because it is the way of your people. But if you tried to make something of someone else's culture, that would be disrespectful.

I'm a huge fan of animal charities...I can't figure out which piece of jewelry to get (a portion of proceeds goes to charity). I'm wondering if I should get one for each organization and then save them as gifts if I get more than one piece:

I'm hoping to make a pendant on some type of leather strap or cord,I'm just having a hard time finding the type of accessories needed to attach the tooth to the cord, I'd like a wire wrap around bezel or some type of cap on top, the tooth is hollow in the middle should I fill it some how to strengthen it? and if so - with what?

Okay, yeah, where the others got the idea you wanted to cast it is beyond me....
Anyway, I'm seeing two simple solutions.
1) Drill a hole through the top, put a jump ring through it, and string it on some cord. Voila! Only problem is, you might break it when you drill. Make sure you use the itty bitty hobby bits if you try it (such as a #68 wire gauge bit--which will correspond to a 20g jump ring)
2) Get some thin gauge wire--I'd recommend sterling, it's prettier. I'm thinking no larger than 22g, and probably 24g or 26g. Look at the top of the tooth. Wrap the wire around the top in an aesthetically pleasing manner that will also keep the wire from coming off. Work your way up , so that the end of the wire comes off the top of the tooth. Make a loop and cut off any extra. String it on your cord. This way's a bit trickier, but safer for your materials.
I really don't recommend making a bezel (you're not going to find a premade one for something like that), unless you have some serious jewelry experience, which you obviously don't or you wouldn't be asking this question. And yes, filling in the middle will definitely strengthen the tooth--I would do it before applying any pressure to the piece at all. You can just use glue or whatever you have handy.
