OK I reeeeally want a nice silver necklace, not too big just with a little decoration on it like a heart or something but i only have like fifteen pounds, by the time I go to Thailand I guess I'll have about thirty. Will I be able to get a nice, cheap (but not cheap looking!) necklace either in Bangkok or Chiang Mai? Hello! I agree with what everyone else says. I've traveled to Thailand many times over the years. I simply love it there! However, I'm not a real expert on jewelry...so I could be easily 'duped'. I DO however trust GEMS GALLERY. There is one in Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. Even if you do not want to buy, it is still an awesome place to visit! Icredibly fine jewelry set amidst tanks with beautiful tropical fish. You can even watch them make the jewelry on-site at their own 'work stations'. Very cool place. If you phone them, they will send a courtesy shuttle to take you there free of charge (please give the driver a tip!). I'm not sure how the prices are compared to other quality jewely shops. but beware! Cheap knock-offs reign supreme in Thailand!

Our sitter is very nice and she bought a silver necklace with a jade pendant for our son. Instead of giving it to us, she put it on him. Obviously we want to be appreciative and respectful and would leave it if it's no big deal. No. Nothing should be around the baby's neck. Your baby could start sucking on the pendant and choke. Hang the necklace in a special spot in the baby's room to show you appreciate the gift.
