What is the significance of this? Do "post-Easter" crosses have a place in your religious art and Jewelry too?
To Whom It May Concern: If you really want to completely lose my respect, post something anti-Catholic.
The significance is nearly as old as the faith itself -- it is a constant reminder of what Jesus suffered for us. It was also a teaching tool to show converts (who were not literate, or where language barriers existed) in the form of paintings and sculpture -- again, the horrible death Jesus suffered for us. It's also a unifying symbol; a way to recognize a brother or sister in Christ on sight.
"Post Easter" crosses (I am assuming you mean the Risen Christ, or a plain cross) can also be worn, kept in the house, etc -- but it really is the Crucifix that reminds us of His sacrifice.
Actually Priscilla, I read last year something from the Vatican about those Risen Christ crosses, and how they shouldn't be used. It'll be an easy internet search if you are interested.

This is a really dumb question but I'm not a Catholic yet:
for jewelry, do Roman Catholics wear just crosses or ones with Jesus crucified on them??
You can wear either (not a Rosary, we dont wear those we pray those).
If you choose a Crucifix and are asked why or why the Church has one on the wall, remember it's as easy as 1:23
1Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumbling block, and unto the Gentiles foolishness:
Peace be with you.

I was baptized a Roman Catholic when I was very young, but for various reasons I haven't gone to church since I was ten years old.
Now that I am 25 years old, I am interested in forming a relationship with Christ again. I am looking into the Episcopal Church, because my beliefs are more aligned with them, as opposed to Catholicism (although the two are closely related).
I am curious as to the type of cross that an Episcopalian would wear around his/her neck. I know Roman Catholics have jewelry where Jesus is displayed on the cross, whereas Protestants wear jewelry where the cross stands alone.
What do Episcopalians wear? I know it seems silly to worry about a material object, but I want to make sure that I am as respectful as possible and do not make a grave religious mistake.
I appreciate any thoughtful and respectful input. Thank you in advance.
I am Protestant, and I wear a crucifix. No such thing as a grave religious mistake except for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Wear what you like. God bless you.

I want to continuously wear a cross on my neck. I looked at many crosses with different material (gold, silver, diamond from jewelry stores, semiprecious gemstones, cheap metals), but I don't want any of them because I felt like Christ died on a wooden cross, not on expensive superficial gold. I want wood because it is a better symbols for Christ's suffering and his love for us.
I once saw a Catholic wearing a cross make out of wood and I think that's the type of cross I want.
Does anyone know where can I find one?
But some wood and make one.
Jesus was a carpenter, learn from him.
But make sure you get it really smooth before wearing it.
OK my mum recently became a full on devout catholic due to a new realtionship with a full on devout catholic. I have been looking for a present for her and thought I might get her a cross pendant. I am confused about the difference between catholic and christian symbols. Do Catholics wear a crucifix with jesus on it or just a plain cross? And is it appropriate to be covered in diamonds? This new man of hers is VERY strict (wont even let her watch Medium) so I don't want to get the wrong cross and then she doesnt wear it. Please help!
OK thats fine, but which cross do I buy!!??
And catholics are more into the jewellery and symbols arent they? They seem to like Mary a lot more than just plain christians do. Look I dont know much about religion because I am not religious so please forgive me if I say anything you think is stupid and just tell me which one is mroe suitable.
She has already read the bible, I think once is enough... Besides something shiny and gorgeous is a much better present.

Is that too diamondy??
Well, I'm a Catholic and probably a good bit older than your mum. I've worn simple crosses - all Christians like these, including Catholics - and crosses with the figure of Jesus on them (called crucifixes). I think mainly Catholics like that one. You should buy your mother whichever one you like, though the crucifix is a bit more 'Catholic'. Definitely avoid the one covered with diamonds - doesn't fit with our idea of Jesus!

Italian Religious Jewelry: A Meaningful Piece Of Gold Catholic Jewelry
The writer of the following article once had an excellent opportunity to purchase some gold Catholic jewelry. On one day in December of 2004 she toured the Cathedral mentioned in the following article. Those who like to wear jewelry might wonder why the writer did not purchase any gold Catholic jewelry, after taking her tour. The writer had earlier lived in New Mexico for two years. During that time, she bought only one piece of Native American jewelry for herself. The writer prefers pins over bracelets, necklaces or earrings. Only at the Grand Canyon did she find any Native American pins. At the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, in Los Angeles , CA, one can find many small alcoves. Each of those alcoves has a miniature altar. Those tiny altars are not meant for performance of idol worship....
Celtic Jewelry – A Beautiful Mystery unraveled
Celtic knots is their intricate designs and patterns … and debate about the significance of these models. Although it is undeniable that many of the old design had a certain importance, these meanings of the tribe to tribe and location changed.
