I'm working on a necklace for my father. We are in a paranormal investigation group, and he is a sensitive. He wanted to have a talisman for going on hunts (and everyday really). He has something now that I made for him, but then I got an idea....

We are taking a piece from a set of antlers (the base, it would make a little medallion shape) and making a necklace out of it for him to wear. He has a celtic cross that I will "charm" for protection, and the antler piece is for psychic sight, since deer is known for psychic attunness and wisdom.

Before PETA people get on me... My family is of Native American origin, my father has been a hunter all his life, we respect the animal and the nourishment it provides.

Here is my question: I want to put some type of symbol on the piece (much like a rune) that either translates to the animal itself or its metaphysical attributes. Any suggestions? Go easy on me... I'm not the greatest artist!


A rune for psychic wisdom and guidence would be Ansuz (like and F, but with the prongs pointing downward 45 degrees). One for being a successful hunter would be Tir/Tiawaz (an arrow pointing up).

Better than a rune, though, would probably be a Native Ameriacan symbol, since it's the tradition your more familiar with.
