What do I do with an old cross?
OBSIDIAN, CLEAR QUARTZ, SILVER

I hope I don't sound like a weirdo, but this is the only place I can think of to ask this:

I've had a lovely silver Celtic cross for about seven years, and it's gotten progressively dirtier [there are a lot of engraved crannies for dirt to get trapped in]. I've tried cleaning it, but to no avail. So, I've just bought a new one.

So what do I do with the old dirty one. I don't think of this as simple jewelry -- it's a cross, for heaven's sake. I keep thinking it would be disrespectful [if not blasphemous] to just toss it in the trash. What would you suggest?

If it matters, I haven't taken the new one out of it's bag yet.

Donate it to a church or the Salvation Army store.

Good website to find value of white-gold?
forever 21

I have a small 14k white gold celtic cross from Fawlers jewelry in Ireland (got it as a gift from an ex). I don't want it, but I don't want to pawn it. It is hallmarked, so I wrote Fallers, but they couldn't help me with the value. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I can figure out the value of it...which probably isn't much...I don't want to get jipped by a jewelery store or pawn shop. Comments...suggestions?

It goes by weight. However have a look here: http://www.celticcrossonline.com/Merchan t5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Co de=CCO&Category_Code=WG
perhaps you can compare prices.

Glad you found it. :-)

How do you clean silver jewelry?
Knotted pendant

I have a silver celtic cross, and it is getting very tarnished. I'm I guy, so I know nothing of how to get it nice and shiny again. I know there is silver cleaner, but is there anything around the house I can use? I wouldn't even know where to look for silver cleaner.

Thanks!

Toothpaste!!!

I am thinking of buying this for my BF (he's part Irish). I bought him a smaller claddagh on a silver chain but he can't wear it because he's allergic to jewelry. :(

Would you wear it? Please be honest but not rude!

Thanks!
He's Catholic.

looks nice, but i wouldn't give him jewelry if he is allergic to it, or maybe you can ask him what kind of materials he's not allergic too. or you should give him something else like a pair of sunglasses.

Stunning Celtic Jewelry : The Classic Celtic Gifts Store To ...

Celtic jewelry typically includes treasured stones including diamonds, sapphires, as well as rubies which often feature in Celtic rings, earrings and even pendants.

The mystical Celtic styles were inspired by hundreds of years of jewelry constructing traditions and practices perfected when the Celts were the prominent culture in old world Ireland and Scotland.

The typical Celtic rings for example like the claddagh ring are the most well renowned, however they make up only a small part of the large variety of Celtic rings on the market today.

With the prolific use of uncommon and complicated knots, crosses and interlacing patterns peculiar to the Celtic tradition… it is at the same time mystical and classic in its grace. Celtic rings artwork can impart a genuine feeling of style to your wardrobe and are collected by fans of fine rings the world over.
