What do I say to my boss/teacher?
Christian Earrings Cross Crazy Blue Lace Agate

I go to a really strict Christian school where they think all jewelry is EVIL, and I got a purity ring for my birthday. My mom told me to wear it to school and if any of the teachers bugged me about it to tell them that I wouldn't take it off. Well I've worn it all day, but I got to the teacher I work for and she saw it and told me I HAD TO TAKE IT OFF RIGHT AWAY! She didn't let me explain and honestly she scares me and I didn't want to explain. So what can I say, because I really think it's stupid that I can't wear a PURITY ring to a CHRISTAIN school!

Lol our school is the same way. Have your mom come in and fight for you. They cant disagree with her.

Having a Jewish Soul?

alrighty here is yet again another question! sorry. but alright. I was telling my friend that i was into Judaism. and she said."but your not jewish. your never going to be." and i said:"well that's that thing i can be if i want. i can convert." and she looked at me like i was crazy. and its hard for her becasue i am her best friend and she deosn't get me. her mom is a die hard christain and she knows that i am not and i am thankful beccause she doesn't push her religion onto me. and she asled me"what does it feel like" after i told her that i have this feleing i was meant to be jewish. and i didn't know what to tell her. becuase either way she wont understand. and here is how i feel. for soem reason i have always been interested in this religion and i keep getting pulled to it. this sounds wierd.. but when we had to read about the holocaust. which i am very interested in. i fell this strange connection to the jewish when we read about them. its strange. and like when i think about being a Jew. it makes me feel so proud and powerful. like i have never felt before. and when we went into this small jewelry store oneday i say a little star of david pendant. and for some reason my heart jumped and i wanted to buy it more than the cross... and also one day we were at this little fair and some old woman came up to me and look at me. and then said you have the soul... ok yeah that was crazy and i think i took it the wrong way but idk. and if any of you are converted jews can ya tell me how you felt. like it was just meant to be and right?

Norah, this is so familiar to me. As I've said in answer to another question of yours, my father was Jewish so there was some connection there, but he was totally atheist. None of my brothers and sisters had the remotest interest in Judaism or our Jewish heritage. I always did. It all just 'spoke' to me and made me feel powerfully connected. The more I learned, the more strongly I felt it. For a long time, I found it VERY difficult because my sense of connection was NOT religious and I couldn't conceive converting to a religion, but I also knew that unless I did, I couldn't be part of what I knew I WAS part of. I spent years feeling like an outsider, that I somehow had to 'prove' my Jewishness even though I knew I wasn't really Jewish, but I couldn't bear feeling excluded from the community where I knew I belonged.

Eventually, something shifted in me and I did, eventually, convert. That's a decision I have never regretted for one second.
