cross pendant silver

I had my necklace hanging around my rearview mirror in my car and forgot to lock it (I almost always lock my car) and someone stole it and my shades. I have seen them with leather necklaces and with silver chain necklaces that I have liked but really all I care about is the pendant I can buy a necklace that I like from a local jewelry store. I haven't been able to find a cross that I like yet though.

check out amazon.com...they have some nice crosses in a variety of price points. :o)

I'm looking for plain silver cross pendants at a cheap price. I will be covering them with beads to put on necklaces to sell.

I was given my grandmothers silver colored cross after she was killed in a car accident when I was 15. I was very close to her and now that I am getting married, I would like this pendant restored so I can use it as bouquet charm when I get married. Then pass it down to my one day daughter. It's missing almost all of the glass gems (6 rectangle and 5 round clear pieces of cut glass/crystal). It has the Lord's Prayer written in the center inbetween the glass - you can read it when you hold it up to a light - but that is even hard to read now, but it may just be dirty. The thin silver chain was lost years ago - I was a rough with my jewelry as a kid.

Can I just bring it in to any jewelers? I don't think it's real silver, but it has great personal value to me.

yes most jewelers will be able to restore it but you might want to take it to a specialist just for your piece of mind in knowing it is in careful hands. md jewelery repair is great but you didnt say where you are from so im not sure if there is one near you. you can search google for local jewelry repair specialists in your area.

I have a cross pendant that I bought because I absolutely love the design of it, and I 've never seen anything quite like it. However, it is made from pot metal so I haven't worn it. I want to have an exact copy of it made in silver. How do I find someone to do this?

Go to a local jewelers and ask them who they recommend. You can also to a google search for lapidaries. They make jewelery and ring settings. If you have a Saturday market or something like it, ask one of the vendors and see if they can make one for you. Good luck!

Hi, I bought a $200+ silver cross pendant with choker from Goldheart some time back? Thought quality better than cheaper ones from Perlini's or Bits & Pieces. However, started to turn yellow on the underside with black specks appearing within short time. Brought it back to the store about 4 X (once to their factory for polishing). However, it would tarnish quite badly again after few days. Since then, Ihave stop wearing it & though i love silver, dare nt buy any again. I have many other thin Perlini's silver chains which tarnished after a few wear. Have to admit that I perspire quite a bit. Cleaning the chain after each wear doesn't seem to help. I thought i should go for other metal other than gold or pure platinum instead but fear similar problems. How abt white gold? What does 'plated' means? I also bought a $20+ pendant from Moshi Moshi. Salesgirl claimed stainless steel but same problem occur? I know that polishing too often damage silver too? any advices? tk
Silver or stainless steel ware on my wrist doesn't have that problem though? I was told plated ware not good cos diff metals react differently to polishing chemical? Thin silver chain turns black on my neck within few wear. The cross pendant also turn blacker even on the front though i left it in cushioned box n not worn since then. Noted that some cheap matte-look silver seem not to tarnish as easily as the shiny ones though i have to admit the latter have better workmanship n attractiveness than the former. The former usually have uneven edge n quite of dull, dark appearance. Don't know why though.
I imply 'rusting' when i said 'turning yellow'? Sorry, should be more precise. The black specks appeared when the rusting condition worsened. The ones on the cross pendant worsened though I stopped wearing it. I have a Perlini's silver bangle n Mio stainless steel bracelet. No prob with them though. Can I apply the nail polish on the chain too though it is curvy n made up of small links throughout? Will the nail polish peel after some time? So no polishing should be done when nail polish applied rite? tks for all the immediate answers!!!

To clean the tarnish, use toothpaste and a soft toothbrush. To prevent it, you can coat it in clear nail polish. Store them in a soft fabric bag and that will help too.
