hand beaded jewelry

I make hand beaded stuff that I sell at my local store and wanted to try internet. I'm not too thrilled about putting it on ebay... any other places that are good?

If you've never been in business before, I would strongly recommend that you talk to a business counselor before you do anything especially spend money. I'd call the local office of SCORE (go to http://www.score.org and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE.

The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting a jewelry business and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you'll concentrate on (your market ) and how you'll go after them.

Try talking to some of the businesses in your area (beauty, nail shops, gift/speciality shops, etc.) and see if they will sell your pieces for you (for maybe a small commission). Also, try craft shows and ebay. Rent a small building or space, advertise and put on your own fashion jewelry show for the public (I did this a few years ago and it was great: however, I live in a small town in Texas and rent for a space was cheap). I use lamp-work focal beads with crystals, glass beads and sterling silver. I'd like to target the higher-end market. Any ideas??
I've thought about "Trinkets and treasures", but wonder if it accurately describes the "higher end" market I'm trying to reach.
