handmade cross necklace

My boyfriend of 2 months (officially, but more like a year) is turning 17 in mid August. He told me that he doesn't want me to spend a lot of money on him, but i still want to do something really special for him.

So far, I'm planning on getting him:
- a handmade card (cheesy but i know he will like it)
- Under Armour gym shorts (he loves them)
- tickets for he and I to go see "Inglorious Basterds" (a new Brad Pitt movie coming out on his birthday, b/c Brad Pitt is his favorite actor)
- a cross necklace, because he's been wanting a new one but doesn't have the money. I might get him that instead of the gym shorts.

My plan is to take him out on a nice day for some sort of picnic at a park or at the beach. I would give him all the presents then.

Opinions? Ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

That is a little much probably do the card, the tickets to the movie and either the cross or the gym shorts not both. The gym shorts aren't as sentimental as the others he can get those on his own. Go have a picnic on the beach give him his presents then go out to the movie it will be the perfect all day date.

I was curious mainly about one item - the rosary. I did a little research, and it seems to be a big debate on if it's acceptable to wear rosaries for fashion. However, that is not my question - my main question is, is there jewelry similar to actual rosaries (a full necklace spread out with glass or faceted beads, and a string usually ending in a cross - these vary a little, of course) that are NOT religious and alright to wear as you wish.. mainly the same bead idea, but instead of a cross, perhaps a heart, or an angel, or any other type of charm. Has anyone heard of them being sold somewhere (mainly online, since unless you live here, you're a bit far away!), or perhaps handmade? Any good answers appreciated.

Okay well my gf's birthday is in a couple of days and my dad's is in 1 week. What do you think I should get him? Like idk a movie or something. And my gf said I don't have to get her anything for her b- day, but I really want to give her something special. I already gave her a necklace and a ring for valentines day when we first got together. Also I made a handmade card, which is really pretty. It has like 2 hearts crossing over with cupid drawn and clouds and other things with our names written in the middle of the heart. Ok so anyways she doesn't want me to buy anything for her so I was thinking of making something by hand for her. What should I make for her that is really romantic that will just make her hug me so much, but it has to be easy to make and have directions to it. Has to be one of the most romantic things ever!! And as for my dad I still don't know what to get him I'm going to go shopping soon. What do you guys get your dad for their b- days? We don't communcate so well and I don't know what he likes. Also I am 15 years old.

Well....draw another handmade card for your GF saying Happy Birthday and wish her a good year ahead.........and give her a bear hug and a good emotional kiss......but before that - call her up early in the morning and wish her....tell her to meet you at some place....give her the card and a chocolate......then give her the kiss and spend time together.....go for a movie or watch tv...play her this song by The Fray - You found me......or sing this - Shania TwaIN - youre still the one


For dad - draw birthday card and say that you love him and thanks for taking care of me and all that.Wake him up for a bacon and eggs - bread - coffee breakfast in bed....then spend the day as family time....play the song by System of a down - Toxicity.....
