Where can I find necklace and bracelet length sterling sliver & imitation silver chains (or the kind made of chain linked tiny balls, I don't know what their called)? Also the black, suede-looking kind? Where can I find them all in bulk at a preferably discount price than individually?

If you can tell me where I'll appreciate it SO much, plus the 10 points!

You can get "ball chain" of various thicknesses, in many hardware stores in bulk quantities, with the connectors to fasten the ends.

As far as "real" jewelry suppliers, I have been very happy with Rio Grande. They have been in business for many years, and carry ball chain in both sterling silver and in non-precious metal, as well as many other kinds of necklace cordage. They have quantity discounts, the more of one item you buy the less the per item cost.

While I have not used them as a supplier, some of my friends have been very happy with what they have purchased from Fire Mountain Gems. They also carry the ball chain and cordage that you are looking for, and have a similar quantity discount.

all handmade by me, materials, price of, and time spent on vary greatly. also, there is transportation and display costs. an example of what i sell is : 16 inch onyx and black agate necklace with a teardrop mother of pearl pendant, 18 inch 3 strand turquoise colored seed beaded necklace with a handmade one of a kind 30mm sterling silver dolphin and hoop pendant. both took about 2.4 hours to make.

Normally, price is associated with quality, especially when it comes to handmade jewelry. You don't want to price your jewelry too low because people will think maybe something's wrong with it. Fast sell and good profit are almost like oxymorons when it comes to jewelry. A lot of time and money goes into making it, so don't underprice your jewelry. Of course, this means it might not sell as fast.

You can calculate both wholesale and retail price. Labor is the amount you want to pay yourself per hour. Depending on your experience it can be anywhere from $15 and up per hour. A common pricing formula is the following.

Wholesale price = (Materials X 2) + (labor X # of hours)
Retail price = wholesale price X 1.50(50% markup)

The markup over the wholesale price can be as high or as low as you want but 50% is pretty common. The display and transportation costs cannot be part of the price since those are business expenses. You have to markup your jewelry to the extent that the price will cover all your expenses plus leave you with a decent profit.

And why is it that some men are much more appreciative than others?

Valentine's day is coming up, and my bf thinks its a hoax. we have been together 10 months, and he has never once bought me flowers. He has bought me things in the past, (when we started dating he bought me a heart sterling silver necklace, and then for christmas - which is also my bday and our 9 month 'anniversary' he bought me perfume.) What should i expect from him for valentines day? Im aiming low, since he doesnt like the occasion and he doesnt have much money right now. He has never bought me anything just cuz he was thinking about me. I am not a materialistic person, but sometimes i wish he would do something sweet to show his affection. i mean, if he gave me something that he handmade, i would love it no matter what! I know he loves me, but i'd like to see this romantic side of him.. Which brings me back to my original question!

Well, my boyfriend bought me flowers on my birthday. After I begged him for a year and a half and practically made him.

Unfortunately, some of them don't think about romance. It doesn't mean they don't care - they just show it in different ways. For example - my boyfriend rubs my back a lot at night before we go to sleep. It's sweet, but not what I consider "romantic". He doesn't understand this - he does it because he loves me, so he thinks it should be just as romantic as anything. We just see things in different ways.
Have you explained to him what romance means to you? Flowers, a cute little gift now and then (handmade or bought or whatever), or even a cute love note or letter. It sounds to me like you want small tokens of his affection, and he sees that as "now I have to buy her something". Maybe explain how all you mean is just something that a) lets you know he's thinking about you and b)something you can keep (a backrub is sweet, yes, but you can't hold it, you can't wear it, etc. a love letter or a necklace or something, you can). Also, the way you first put this question, it sounded a bit materialistic - but I know what you're saying, and I know you're NOT trying to be materialistic. Maybe that's how it's coming across.
Also, you say some men are more appreciative than others. That sounded - forgive me - a bit mean. I know that's not how you meant it, and you're probably just really frustrated, but they all are appreciative. It's just, like I said before, they show it in different ways.
I'm going to recommend a book to you - Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. It's been a highly joked about book all my life but I finally bought it - it's amazing the kind of things you learn in there. There's a whole series with it too...Mars and Venus on a Date, Mars and Venus in the Bedroom, etc. Really though, there's not much you can do about it besides just remember how much you love him and how he tries in his own way - and explain your feelings to him (in a very explicit way, subtle hints just confuse men. And that's not a dis - it's true).

It looks like you are interested in making jewelry. I would head to your local craft store, like JoAnn fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc. They will have supplies and directions to get you started. I would recommend starting small, until you find a craft that you truly enjoy. Personally, I like to make sun-catchers...and do cross stitch, and make wedding albums, and jewelry, I found all the supplies and directions at Hobby Lobby. I also make specialty cakes, Hobby Lobby has a great selection of pans and ideas.
