irish cross necklace

Mah boyfriend is getting a lot of christmas presents from me for christmas, whether he likes it or not. He wants an ipod nano which is 145$ and thats it! But i know he wants me to make him a pillow (which will only cost me roughly 5 bucks at jo-anna fabrics) and he wants an Irish Cross necklace. I dont want it to break (because mah boyfriend is so big and tall everyone jumps up around his neck) so i want to get him an Irish Cross Tattoo on his back. I dont want it to be very big. But here is the other thing. I get 40 bucks a month. christmas is in 3 n 1/2 weeks... please help me out!!!!!!!!!!

That tattoo is going to cost way more than the $40 you're going to have. And besides, there's no way to give you an accurate estimate - there are too many factors that decide the price of a tattoo. Your best bet would be to go into different tattoo shops, look at portfolios and ask questions. If you describe to the artist what the cross is going to look like, the colors, the size (bringing a picture would be even better) they should be able to give you a quote. Maybe you should save up money throughout the year and get him the tattoo for his birthday?

in this world we live in the irish are the only ones you can still make fun of the clatter ring is the most sold piece of jewelry in the country but yet most big jewelry store's don't sell them. why? not to mention don't you find it a little offense we still call it a paddy wagon? if had been called a n i g g e r wagon there would be an uproar even luck of the irish has raciest root's back during the cal gold rush the irish where the only ones cashing in so every one else would say oh the luck of the irish as in there to stupid to be strategic about finding gold so it must be luck.

A little about him to consider:
He loves working out (bodybuilding)
He likes accessories that relate to Jesus (thick banded cross bracelet, cross necklaces - (no bling lol) etc.)
He wears the same necklace everyday. Another one would be great!
He likes leather, real or faux.
He needs a new wallet BADLY.
He is Irish.

I am thinking along the lines of:
Leather belt, leather wallet, bracelet, necklace, irish teddy bear/boxers/tshirt, cologne. Maybe a really good magazine about bodybuilding and working out.

If you have anything specific to add, like what brand wallet, where to go, what kind of cologne, what magazine please any ideas would be very helpful!!!

Don't only get him something physical...take him out to dinner and a movie...or do something that you would expect him to do for you....and pay...he'll love it...I'm sure...if you want to get him something physical...get him the wallet...if he needs it he'll appreciate it a lot...but here's an idea. Take him out for dinner...give him the wallet but have some money in it to pay for dinner...and tell him to pay for dinner...he'll eventually figure out that you gave him money...in a NEW wallet that he'll enjoy.

Over the summer I bought a necklace with the iron cross symbol on it. I had no knowledge of its meaning or origin, I didn't even know it was German. I just thought it was a cool symbol. In fact at first glance I thought it was an Irish symbol. Shows how much I know lol. Anyway I had been wearing it almost every day not knowing its reputation, and no one really confronted me on it. Until I did my research and I was shocked of how it was associated with Nazism in WWII. So I flipped it over so that when I wear it the black side doesn't show but the silver side does, which I actually think looks cooler.

So in short, do you think it is offensive for me to be wearing it with the silver side showing?

and is the Iron Cross an offensive symbol in today's world?
