I am white and my ex-boyfriend is Indian (from India, not a Native American). He is Muslim and I am Christian. When we first started dating, he was soooo sweet and attentive and made me feel like a million dollars. Then he moved for work and for three months we were in a long distance relationship and he barely ever spoke to me. I still felt that he cared about me, though. But a couple of days ago I told him how I was feeling: that I felt very frustrated cuz I wanted to be with him but couldn't, that I couldn't see how our relationship could progress. I told him I wasn't blaming him but I just needed to say how I felt. I said "Don't misinterpret this; I'm not saying I don't want to date you because I do. I don't want to lose you. I just need to express how I feel." Honestly I just wanted him to reassure me that he still cared and that he was still trying to find a job where I live so we could be together again. But instead he said he understood and that he didn't want to hold me back. He said he thought I should date other guys because he didn't know if he was going to be able to move back here where I am...he has been looking for 3 months now and hasn't found anything. I feel really hurt...I didn't want to break up; I just wanted him to tell me that he still cares. I have always felt that he is a very faithful and trustworthy person but now I'm worried that he likes somebody else. He sent me a text saying "Sorry to have caused you pain. I just want you to move on because I am very uncertain about my future. You are the sweetest girl I've ever met." He sent me a beautiful ruby and sapphire ring and necklace set for Christmas, even though he is broke...now two weeks later he is telling me to date other guys. I don't know what to think. I guess it must seem pretty obvious that he must have lost interest but I'm so confused...he was so determined to get me as his girlfriend when I met him. I guess I'm hoping somebody thinks there is hope for us still, but perhaps i'm just deluding myself.

i am form india 23 yrs old. i have crossed the same phase of life through which your bf is going. I left my girlfriend because i am not certain of my future. i dont know what I will do in future to cover up my living expenditure. i stil love her very much n i want to see her happy always n just for her happiness i left her. intially she was not happy ,she always cry in front of me to come back in her life. but now she is happy as she has got new bf. i know she will never get that kind of relation which she has used to with me. but she is happy in her life.
indian guys never cheat someone perhaps some do. but in you r case it seems that for your happiness he has ledt you. as he is not sure of his future. he cant promise to take care of you for whole life as he dsnt know how he wil take care of himself. i can understand the situation of your guy as i am also going through the same.
I juz want to advice you to contact him . you guys juz meet n sit n discuss all the things going in your minds. this wil let you help to clear all kind of misunderstandings you have. i wish you people alwys stay together n happy. All the best..!
