I was given my grandmothers silver colored cross after she was killed in a car accident when I was 15. I was very close to her and now that I am getting married, I would like this pendant restored so I can use it as bouquet charm when I get married. Then pass it down to my one day daughter. It's missing almost all of the glass gems (6 rectangle and 5 round clear pieces of cut glass/crystal). It has the Lord's Prayer written in the center inbetween the glass - you can read it when you hold it up to a light - but that is even hard to read now, but it may just be dirty. The thin silver chain was lost years ago - I was a rough with my jewelry as a kid.

Can I just bring it in to any jewelers? I don't think it's real silver, but it has great personal value to me.

yes most jewelers will be able to restore it but you might want to take it to a specialist just for your piece of mind in knowing it is in careful hands. md jewelery repair is great but you didnt say where you are from so im not sure if there is one near you. you can search google for local jewelry repair specialists in your area.

Are there any other types of necklaces like the one featured for "Lord's Prayer Cross Necklace"..the type with the crystal center that, when held to light, displays a message/image/etc??? If so, where can i find one?? Im looking for one that's not a cross but any other simple necklace with the same concept..you know, you look thru the crystal while holding up to the light and it displays a message? Doesn't have to be the prayer one I already know where to find that one but something with the same idea??? Anyone know where I can find some like that? any type of jewelry? help!

My immediate family (Mother, Father, Sisters) aren't very religious, I've never been a kid to go to church. My Nana is a catholic, so she bought me the cross necklace that I always wear. But since I wasn't really raised in a religious home, or at a certain chiurch, or raised being preached to, I'm now extremely confused about religion. I believe that there is a God, and I believe in Jesus being his son, and that he died for our sins so we could be forgiven and stuff. I don't believe in hell, though. I believe that God loves us all equally (righttt?) so he wouldn't seperate us into Heavenly Paradise and A Burning Pit of Hell, based on how many mistakes we've made. I pray, sometimes and I do believe that someone can help us get through the things we need to get through. I don't think you have to ask for forgiveness for sins because to me, they're just mistakes and as long as you own up to the bad things you do and take the punishment, then you're forgiven. I really want to raise my kids in a certain religion so they won't end up like me. I wanna be more religious. I go to my church camp every year, and that's where I'm most spiritual. I have like, no faith and that's what has kind of made me want to believe more and have more faith. I do believe that there's always someone their with you, helping you and I believe that's God. I can't talk to my parents about this, and idk I just need help. I'm sorry this is so confusing, but could someone please help me figure out what to do with my religion...? :/

First pray everyday and read the Bible.

Then I suggest you start to regularly attend church services, Bible study, and/or religious education classes. Do not be afraid to ask for parents for a bit of assistance, if needed.

I was given a family heirloom from my Grandmother earlier today. It is a cross necklace that has the Lords prayer inside of it. It is about 60 plus years old and belonged to my great grandmother.

The cross is made of diamond like pieces ... and seemed to have " yellowed " over time. I do not think they are real diamonds ... but I'd like to clean it ... and not sure if there is a specific way to do it at home or if I should take it to the jewelry store?? Also, does anyone know what type of stone yellows like that over time? Cubic whatever maybe? Again, I do not think they are real diamonds ...

If it is 60 years old, you might be causing more problems for yourself if you try to clean it. It would be better to have it cleaned at the jewelry store where they can do it properly and if anything happens while they are cleaning it.... they are responsible. For a piece that age, they might also want to tighten up any loosened stones. For sure, they will be able to tell you whether or not the diamonds are real, but one thing is certain, this is an heirloom and even if it does not have real diamonds, it is valuable to you and your family. The jeweler will handle it with care and you will get it back in better condition than it is now.
