real silver chain

Why would this happen, i would of assumed a real silver chain is better than the metal ones you buy from the petshops?
BONSYLAR chains from petshops are made of nickel which i believe is really cheap metal.

MALADYMIC i wear a necklace and im not an ornament.
KELLYHERT its not a fashion statement, its a preference, people who see my pugs wouldnt know it was silver chains they were wearing
i have used mens chuncky silver necklaces just incase you thought it was a thin ladies chain

Humm... I'll fess up, my dogs wear beads (on elastic) and the one with silver beads doesn't have that problem but the other beads probably hold the silver ones off her neck. could you try adding beads at inervals to hold the sliver off her neck?

is there a way to tell? i mean by just looking at it. i was planning on buying a chain and i saw this small shop which had them for cheap. they said it's real but how do i tell?

this experiment is so fun and educational :

to use here are the materials:
graduated cylinder(10ml-100ml)
your silver
water

first you must add a water in g.c for about 10ml
then write it in paper 0ml.
then sink the silver and read the reading this is how you called density

here is the formula
density= matter(gm of a silver)
volume (space occupied by water)

m/v =density
if it reach the reading of 19.5 its silver
if 18.00 below its silver with some cupper,iron etc..

my mate sold me an old chain of his for £2. it's definetly a good deal but i want to make sure that it's real. there are quite a few markings but i don't know which ones to look out for.
*4get bout how much i got it for, how can i tell its real?????
* kl its got 925 engraved neatly on either end of the chain and some other marks, ill vote prime-mi... as best answer wen i can. its also got some other marks as well. i got it so cheap cos it was stolen. and my mate hu stole it is a propper crakhed so £2 is gd enough 4 him lol. ill either keep it or find out how much its worth at my local jewlers. if it's worth a lot i will give a decent amount to my m8 tho.

Look out for a small marking on your necklace,

it should be the number '925'

This usually means it is real silver.

However for £2 it is unlikely, sorry
