Why does the Canadian government observe religious Christian holidays?
Holy Night Chirstmas Flyer and CD Label Template

Like Good Friday and Easter Monday? I thought Canada was a secular, liberal-minded country? And isn't there a growing Muslim population in Canada? Why are these strictly Christian religious holidays officially observed by the government?

I can understand observing Christmas since it's also largely a secular holiday, but not Good Friday and Easter.

Canada IS a secular country, in law, government and schooling...BUT as Christians were the majority many years ago, many of their traditions have stuck, and really, who is going to complain about an extra day off school or work? More Canadians these days observe the Easter Bunny and the Holy Cadbury Cream Egg then the Judeo-Christian hijacked from the Pagans holiday.

As for these holidays being strictly Christian.....that's debatable. History shows that long before Christianity was thought up, there were already Pagan holidays on these days....it just makes for better converts if they aren't losing a celebration.

How do people apply their Christianity in religious Christian work environments?
York Minster_261011_0091BW

1- What aspect of their relationship with Christ should be most important?

2- How should the relationship affect their performance.

This is especially for teaching in Christian schools, colleges, etc ...

Our relationship with Christ cannot have strog aspects and weak aspects. It is one relationship. So that is a difficult question to answer. If I had to pick something i would say obey the Great Commandment. That will cover it all.
Everything we do we should do it as unto the Lord. Good luck!

Can a religious Christian and a religious Jew possibly be happy as husband and wife?
The Ladder of Divine Ascent | Sucevita Monastery

with both of them serving their idea of God? Can this possibly work? Does anyone have any experience here?

It's posible - but there needs to be clear bounderies.

This does not include a "plan" to pressure a conversion years down the track.

  • Christian Persecution Blog: Atheists, Religious Groups Lobby on ...

MADISON, Wis. — To pray or not to pray? That's the issue government leaders across the country are facing after a federal judge ruled that the National Day of Prayer set for May 6 was unconstitutional.

The ruling can't take effect until all appeals are exhausted, but that's not stopping atheists and prayer advocates from firing off letters, e-mails and even planning to put up billboards to convince state and local leaders across the country to see things their way.

United States Military Religious Freedom Foundation Hatred of ...

    By Jay Sekulow

What is most troubling about the fact that the U.S. Army has rescinded an invitation for Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagon for a National Day of Prayer service is the organization behind the move.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation is headed by Mikey Weinstein, who I have debated on this issue in the past.  The real agenda here is to target Christianity.  How else could you explain comments from Weinstein comparing Christian believers in the military to al-Qaeda and the Taliban: “We’re fighting al-Qaeda, we’re fighting the Taliban, and we’re turning our own military into the exact same thing,” Weinstein proclaims on his own website.

And, Weinstein also openly and notoriously mocks Christian teachings: “I knew what Jesus said: ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by me.’  The problem is, if you don’t cometh to him, he’s going to have to hurt you, really badly, like light you on fire for all eternity.”
