The Beatitudes Cross is made with holy water from the River Jordan and earth from the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus Christ performed his #39 ...
If so, what type and what is the material.(gold, silver, copper, base metal, wood, porcelain, native clay, feathers, etc)
And what colors does it incorporate?
Also, do these colors represent any special meaning to you?
I wear a diamond pentacle which once belonged to my great aunt on my Dad's side. It's a family heirloom.
I also wear a clay bead, it's something my Dad made and I'll treasure it, always.
My Dad passed away in 2003.
This question relates to book research and will advance the plot if it can be addressed with good info. I need to know what religious jewelry or wearable testimony to Islam that men wear.
For example, do Muslims ever make the pilgrimage to Mecca and bring home something that proves they made the journey and which could be worn around their necks?
Also, are there such things as Islamic prayer tablets made from the native clay of Mecca that have short verses from the Koran carved into them. Do these "prayer tablets" exist? Are they commonly worn around Muslim men's necks on gold or silver chains?
Thank you for your time and wisdom.
I appreciate your insight Muhammad K. & Bob the Wolf.
Mr. Muhammad:
Could you provide some follow-up information about qibah, quranic verses al-falaq, fa-fatiha and the khamsa? Your answer was very helpful, but I would be enormously grateful if you could tell me just a little more.
For instance, is gold or silver religious jewelry more prevalent? Would the item you mentioned be worn by men in Saudi Arabia who are now living "outwardly secular lives" in America?
What branch of Islam is this religious jewelry more common, Sunni or She'ite? (I may have spelled those wrong).
Thanks, Sarah.
That really helped! I now have another avenue to pursue regarding plot development of that one scene....
You are a good lady. Can I make you a research contact here on Y!?
***EDIT:
Is "Haram" a violation of Islamic law or etiquette?
What are the consequences of such a breach?
i am a secular muslim but i have muslim friends, and i incuded, wear necklects with the qibah, or quranic verses al-falaq or fa-fatiha or the khamsa, which is the hand with the eye in the middle. islam forbids idol worship so religious symbols are not to big
I am trying to get a solid silver pendant made similar to a crucifix, but of a different religious symbol. Does anyone know what manner of establishment would offer this type of service?
It depends where you live. I know that you can have anything made to your own design in India and probably in the Middle East. I saw beautiful religious pendants of Hindu gods in Spain and as Spain is not a Hindu country I should imagine they were made to order there. I would imagine that it will be harder in the West as jewellery is more likely to be made by larger companies than in the East.
I need some information about how Egyptian jewellery was religious, and what it protected people from..
so far this is all i got..
Jewellery was important in an everyday lifestyle for the Egyptians. It was used for religious reasons, but also fashionable reasons. They created jewellery with natural and beautiful gems, beads, shells, plant branches, stones, and even bones. These were designed in threads of flax or even cow hair. People sometimes painted it with glass substances to give it shine and clarity. Both men and women wore jewellery, rich or poor. Men wore simple symbolic jewellery, while women wore much larger, colourful, and decorated jewellery. As Societies and technology developed in time, people started using gold, and silver to create a more complex rang of jewellery.
Jewellery was used as religious beliefs because jewellery would protect people from evil beyond the Nile, from spirits, enemies, and also danger. People used different ways to express the message of the jewellery. Some were cartouches (hieroglyphics), most were symbolized as ankh, or even the eye of Ra.
okay , i am egyptian so i can tell u for sure that nowadays a man wearing jewelery is very provoking, and in islam men should not wear gold. another point, most people in egypt buy jew. and gold bec they think it is a way to invest and not out of spirituality. also hieroglyphics iin gold is only made for tourists we don't really buy it. however sometimes ( and mostly) women wear jewelry with islamic inscriputions and verses for quran bec they think it keeps the evil eye away!

...The End Time: No to cruifix for Christian nurse; yes to jewelry ...
A Christian nurse who lost a discrimination claim against her employer over her right to wear a crucifix has claimed the tribunal's decision marks "a very bad day for Christianity". An employment tribunal ruled in favour of the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust Hospital over a claim by nurse Shirley Chaplin that being asked to remove a necklace bearing a crucifix would "violate her faith". Mrs Chaplin was then moved to a desk job in order to comply with the trust's health and safety policy which viewed necklaces of any sort as a potential hazard which could be grabbed by patients. Mrs Chaplin, who wore the emblem at the tribunal hearing in Exeter, said she would stand by her convictions irrespective of the decision and continue to wear the crucifix. Female staff who follow the Islamic faith will be allowed to cover their arms to preserve their modesty despite earlier guidance that all staff should be "bare below the elbow". The Department of Health has also relaxed rules prohibiting jewellery so that Sikh members of staff can wear bangles linked with their faith, providing they are pushed up the arm while the medic treats a patient. The Department of Health has also relaxed rules prohibiting jewelery so that Sikh members of staff can wear bangles linked with their faith, providing they are pushed up the arm while the medic treats a patient. Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." A double standard for sure, but in these days when good is called evil we should know that we were told that there shall be godlessness in the last days, (II Timothy 3:1-5,) and that many would fall away from the faith and worship doctrines of demons (II Timothy 3:1-5,7)
