I have seen a cross which in addition to normal horizontal bar also has an additional, shorter, one above the first one? What is this cross called and what does it symbolize?

It's a symbol used in the Eastern Orthodox Church. It symbolizes the cross of Jesus. It refers to the sign that Pontius Pilate had nailed there that said "Jesus the King of the Jews."

Ive not had the easiest of lives and the last two have been particularaly hard. Ive never been relgious and up until 4 years ago would of even said I was an aithiest. over the last 4 years ive come to respect the world around me and look with a new sight. Ive also learned alot about forgiveness for wrongs done by myself and others.

Over the last few months, Ive been drawn to a necklace we sell at work, which is in the shape of a cross. Not because its sparkly or would go with an outfit it feels more than that. Its not expensive and feel I would love to wear it all the time, strangely I feel it would help me in my life, but after all its a necklace!!. my manager whos catholic thinks its a calling and as my life is lacking this is a step towards a solution.

My question is, is it wrong to wear this necklace or am I just being silly. Serious answers please I am really stuck....

It's not wrong to wear that necklace. Although the cross has exclusively been identified as the symbol of Christ who died in the cross; the cross existed long before Him.
