Is stainless steel jewelry for men popular and/or stylish?? Why is it more expensive than sterling silver?

I've been looking for a nice sterling cross pendant, and most of the cool looking ones are "high end" stainless steel which happens to be more expensive than sterling ones. Even Kay Jewelers has a big selection of steel jewelry. Is stainless steel in?? Will it tarnish?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Stainless steel jewelry doesn't rust even used for a long time.
Sterling silver jewelry are easy to become black in some condition.
So it is more expensive than the latter.
Stainless steel jewelry are more and more popular in men's fashion.
It will make you feel cool if you wear a nice stainless steel necklace.

Does this sound Interesting?

This is a story I'm writing, I just want to know what you guys think...

*Chapter One*

Where had everyone gone? All at once, the people swished out of the club, the music abruptly put to a halt. The lights dimmed slightly, the colored ones going dark and bathing the place in a deep golden glow. Even the staff left without a backward glance, leaving unfinished drinks and empty glasses where they sat on coffee and end tables. No one seemed to notice the young woman that gripped the edge of the bar counter with white knuckles, her face pale with fear; not even the people she arrived with seemed to realize they were leaving their companion almost completely alone. The lone shred of company the woman had left was no consolation: it was the thing that wouldn’t allow her to leave. The mirrors that covered the walls and ceiling reflected her cornered state a thousand times over.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” she said, trying to hold her voice steady and nearly succeeding. She backed a few more paces away from where the man stood. “Let me go.”
“You are the eldest in the Aetas,” he replied in a smooth, rich voice. “You must know.” The man smiled knowingly at her.
“The what?” She looked to be about nineteen years old, with an oval face and subtlely prominent cheekbones under smooth, fair skin. Her hair, reddish-brown with natural gold laced in, was swept back from her face and fell practically to the small of her back in slight, delicate waves. Her eyes, the color of polished, bright emeralds, were stretched wide in fear. Her five feet eight inches had nothing on his six feet and four inches, she thought with growing despair. She wrapped one fist around the silver locket pendant that hung on its decoratively twisting chain, feeling the shallow, antique engravings on its circular surface. Though she wore jeans, a T-shirt, and Converse, something about her captor told her that it would be useless to try to run. It scared her all the more. She watched the man keeping her there with understandable wariness; if he weren’t holding her prisoner, she might have been attracted to him. He was incredibly handsome, with raven-black hair and striking, menacing blood red eyes that weren’t the product of contacts. He couldn’t have been more than twenty-five. He grinned impishly at her, flashing perfect white teeth that any dentist would pay a pretty penny for. He leaned against the counter opposite her, his arms crossed and one ankle crossed over the other. This relaxed position only made his captive more tense: his confidence was not comforting in the least. Despite his careless, seemingly lazy posture, she could see how catlike he was in his litheness and subtle muscle. He was swathed in clothes that matched his eyes: a tight-fitting burgundy turtleneck sweater that showed off what appeared to be the fruits of heavy gym labor, the sleeves pushed up to his elbows; dark red skinny jeans; expensive-looking burgundy tennis shoes completed the look. He glanced absently at the silver watch on his left wrist and leveled his gaze at the woman. Her heart leapt into her throat when he turned, for she had caught the glint of something silver in his belt.
“Show me,” he demanded with sudden impatience.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” she protested desperately.
“Show me now!” he growled.
“No!” Suddenly, the man whipped the silver gun from his belt and clicked it, looking down the short barrel at her.
“One last chance,” he snarled. She could only stare blankly. The crack of a bullet leaving its chamber filled the air, and she screamed.

Serena’s eyes snapped open on blackness, her breathing rapid, her heartbeat racing, and her body engulfed in a cold sweat. But try as she might, she couldn’t remember a single detail about the nightmare that had put her in this state. She hissed a curse under her breath in agitation and rolled over to read the hauntingly red, glowing letters on her clock: 6:00am. Only three hours of sleep again.

Oooh it's interesting so far, and I like your style of writing, and thanks for those compliments about my story! ;)
I wish you the best of luck =]

Isn't it weird and slightly disturbing...?

That many Christians remember their/our saviour by weraing and displaying iconic representations of a wooden cross?

I realise he is, but shouldn't he be remembered for his original message of love? I know he sacrificed himself on it for us but it's still a little grisly.

I might start wearing a pendant with a silver Big Mac on it to remember Elvis, or a silver bullet to remember JFK, or perhaps an effigy of a man burning in the lectric chair to represent all those who are killed wrongly across the globe.

PS, didn't God and Christ condemn all the religious icinography anyway?

No offence intended, but I know you forgiving Christian souls won't take any anyway!
I really should have hit spell check before I posted this one, but I'm tired and grouchy. At least I hope you can make it out!

well perhaps if Elvis had taken one for all mankind he could be remembered with a peanut butter and nanner sandwich...While it might seem Little bazaar to put this much on the instrument of Christs demise he did choose to die...So remembering the cross is remembering his great sacrifice...yes I can see how the world would see this as if Christ had died by hanging would we all wear nooses around our necks...but the understanding I have is Jesus knew he would be a sacrifice for us all...
Matt. 16: 24
24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Buying silver cross pendant is not as easy as it sounds. Indeed, the choice of just the trailer a bit 'a challenge because there are many designs to choose from.

For example, there are cross-trailers designed to incorporate different stones. Everything can be covered with diamonds or white gold, sapphires, rubies, etc. Some people prefer colored stones, along with their supporters, to have sport crosses decorated with beautifulStones.

Then there are the trailers to look bulky and unwieldy. These are just as popular accessories typically worn by men. Also, when men wear them, will be a significant piece of equipment and very eye-catcher for those who see it.
