Can i get away with wearing a gold charm on a sterling silver necklace?

Well...for the most part mixing gold and silver is kind of tacky, but it really depends on what charm and what necklace you're talking about. if it's a big gold charm on a thin silver necklace, you might be able to pull it off. Yet if the chain is heavy and thick...probably not. All you can do is use your own good judgment!

I am purchasing a sterling silver deer charm for my boyfriend for valentines day. His necklace is 14 karat white gold but the charm in white gold is $400. If i end up purchasing the sterling silver charm would you notice the difference of sterling silver and white gold together on his necklace?

I don't think you could notice too easily.. But some people can. Silver usually has a barely noticeable blueish silvery glow while white gold is a bit more solid looking & sometimes resembles yellow gold. White gold is a lot harder too. Just don't buy him silver & tell him its white gold. Love never works out with lies.

I have a necklace chain that has two sterling silver heart charms on it that overlap each other. Now they both have rub marks on them. How do I get the rub marks off and make them shiny again?

Polishing cloths are best and inexpensive option. "Sunshine" is the very best one (made in Japan) or you can use other brands as well. These clothes remove dirt, tarnish and fingerprints from the jewelry.

My question is...When I buy this and have her ashes put in it, I don't ever want to take it off. With that being said I'm a bit lost as to what type of metal I should get. I would love the white gold one, but its 800.00, so I'm leaning more towards the sterling silver. What are your thoughts about wearing a sterling silver piece on a daily basis, including the shower/pool....?

Sterling silver is very durable. It can be worn all the time. I have several pieces that I never take off. One is a bracelet I've worn every day for the last 35 years. I looked at the pieces on that website, and if you plan on wearing it every day, I would suggest you seal the the screw with loctite to keep the water out. Loctite or superglue will keep the screw in.
