I am a wire artist.I work in Gold filled and sterling silver.I am fairly new (14 months)to the art,but have been very diligent in practicing,and have gotten quite good.I have sold to friends durring the holiday season.Now that its's over,I have about 200 pieces to try and sell.What is the best way to go?I'd love to hear from other wire artists,that have had success and how you did it.Thanks
Most cannot, some do. You need to attend trade shows, flea markets and rock and jewerly shows and talk to those you meet there.

I will be selling at a craft fair again this November, and am wondering what will help my sales in this economy. My stuff is good and well-made and is a good value for the money. (Handcrafted sterling silver earrings for under $10.-, for example.)
I love craft shows too. I might also sell at some this year. I'm thinking that as a buyer, it's the fact it's hand made and pretty much one of a kind. Price is always a factor, but some things are just so UNIQUE I have to have them.
The show I might do soon is at a Sr. center, so there is a particular pricing issue with those buyers. Also, they aren't going to necessarily buy a cell phone case, but they would buy an eyeglass case. Or instead of jewelry, maybe they want an eyeglass (sunglass) holder - those beaded chain or strap like things that you attach your eyeglasses to at the sides.
In other words, find out from the people who are running the show what the typical buyer is. Women, men, kids, what age groups etc...
Ask your kids or your friends to ask their kids what they like. I think teenagers like knitted caps, key chain or purse or cell phone "charms", friendship bracelets, maybe cool book covers or other school related things etc...
You earrings sound like a very good value so if they're pretty or unique enough, they should sell well despite any fancy gift box.
Of course, be friendly, but don't be pushy.
If you do something else, and it's very unique (like other than earrings) make up a sign that shows how the item can be used.
Make a list of who would like your items as gifts.

The presentation of the item does really help- i wouldn't buy anything that looks like it has Just been thrown around- you could add flowers or raised levels to the stall perhaps?
It needs to be a good reasonable price- if they find something along the same lines but cheaper.. well need i say more.
When they purchase it make sure you ask if they would like to wear it now? they might want it wrapped up- you could do this and charge 50p more?
The colour doesn't really matter, taste vary's between people. alot of younger people prefer brighter things ( rainbow Colors etc ) where as adults may prefer blue's, green's, brown's etc.
i wouldn't necessarily give the gift box away for free- although you could include the price for this in the overall cost. a free bag would be a good idea though. try and get ones that have been recycled or are unique looking- the presentation even after the product has been sold can get you more customers.
Uniqueness is everything.
It would be nice to know where the product has come from, what materials it was made from and whether it helps anyone in poorer countries. You could create just a little card to put on your stool saying these details. ( i could create you one and send it to you if you like as i am good with my IT skills, just drop me a message if you want. )
The seller has to be friendly- no one wants to buy anything from someone who looks miserable!!
I would choose something that's in at the moment so search through magazine's and see what style is currently in- then personalize it to make it unique.
