sterling silver jewelry cross

I have read that to clean silver jewelry I need a cloth and liquid polish. Where do I get that stuff? I can't afford anything expensive.
Any other tips / suggestions are welcome!

If you go to Walmart or Target you can just get a silver polishing cloth, you really don't need the liquid... You just rub rub rub until its shiny. you can also, in a pinch, use warm water and baking soda rub w/ a soft cloth or a lens cloth.

I have a cross stone that i would like to have laying inside of a sterling silver backing. The idea is to frame the stone cross in silver. I hope this makes sense.. i have no idea where to look.

Go to a jewelry store, take in the stone and a picture or sketch of what you have in mind. If they can't do it there they can refer you to another store that can. There are a lot of custom jewelers, and I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out.

I've been looking for a nice sterling cross pendant, and most of the cool looking ones are "high end" stainless steel which happens to be more expensive than sterling ones. Even Kay Jewelers has a big selection of steel jewelry. Is stainless steel in?? Will it tarnish?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
