sterling silver pendant for men

I've been looking for a nice sterling cross pendant, and most of the cool looking ones are "high end" stainless steel which happens to be more expensive than sterling ones. Even Kay Jewelers has a big selection of steel jewelry. Is stainless steel in?? Will it tarnish?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sterling Silver and Leather Men Pendant Necklace

Which one is less tacky and which would you prefer? Also, does a man's (25 yrs old) have to have a pendant? Does it look cheap to buy him a necklace without a pendant? I found a stainless steel necklace by Invicta that was originally $225 but is discounted at $39.99. Should i buy?

Get the one for $39.99.

And don't put a pendant on it, that's kinda girly.

I think he will like the silver chain necklace.
