I would also like to find a photo of it. Apparently my husband's ancestor was responsible for this and we just recently found out. I know it was carved in Germany and brought to Canada. I do not know who did the carving and why.

If you really think about it. Isn't that pretty sadistic? Blood rolling down his face and body. Think, now really who would do something like that? I know you know the answer but are afraid to think it.

it really boggles my mind too.... I can understand art or statues in the middle ages because it told bible stories and there were no bibles for the public but now a days..... it boggles my mind.

An even worse practice is when christians think they are actually drinking christ's blood and literally eating christ's body........

Talk about a lack of interpretation skills....

I also find it hilarious when religious people go crazy when i suggest that it could be symbolic and not literal

Can someone tell me what is the name of the statue at the front right hand side of the inside of the Eglise de la Madeleine in Paris and who the three principle characters are?
I don't mean the statue of Magdalene being carried by two angels at the rear of the chuch, but the one on the right as you enter the church from the front.

I have absolutely no idea if this helps...
