I posted a note on a corkboard asking if Vanessa would be interested in having coffee; instead, someone placed a pearl white, rosary (beaded) crucifix of jesus on top of the thumbtack that held the letter to the board. This was at the Nursing building on the Main Arizona State campus today. I hadn't seen or heard from Vanessa in a couple of months but she was remarkable for two reasons: she was a journalism student and had some sort of hearing impairment or speech impediment. And she was remarkably nice to me, which is unusual for complete strangers (most people are either into themselves or busy with their iPods).
What is the meaning of the pearl white, rosary (beaded) crucifix of Jesus? Did she die in a car accident or something?

Rosaries come in many different colors. The colors themselves don't really mean anything except to the user. I have one made out of rosewood and one made out of amythist (my birthstone). Both mean something to me, but they aren't "color coded".
Why was it hung there? Perhaps someone found it and put it on the cork board hanging from the only thing they could find, your thumbtack.

My brother just got a tattoo of a Rosary (we are Catholic), but instead of a crucifix at the bottom, there is a cross. I thought that a rosary is supposed to have a crucifix at the bottom. Is a cross improper or wrong?
Traditionally, Catholics have the crucifix to remember the suffering of Jesus, and Protestants have the empty cross to remind themselves of his resurrection.
Neither is wrong. Just the cross itself shows his love of Jesus.

I've thought about all different types of tattoos. I've pretty much pinned where I want them to be and of course one major area is the lower back. I do love a crucified Jesus but I don't know about putting him on my back.
Not more on your lower back than on any other part. I think getting such a tattoo would be ok (and not sacrilegious or something of the sort) only if you are a Christian and the reason to get your tattoo is your devotion to Jesus or any other religious one ...
