if we did that in religion class... would it be good for them? or is it degrading to the children? or a sign of pity? or if we made the rosary beads for the children would it be good?
maybe you need to ask the father at the church? You could make them for the church and let them give them away, but that does not help the Quakers, Baptist, or others. Maybe doing a story time with fresh veggies would be more helpful. Or redo used toys for birthdays and next holidays!
May God Bless You as you pray the Holy Rosary with your family!
I need a craft idea for making a child's rosary. If anyone could offer some assistance I would greatly appreciate it!
Boys- use sport beads (football, baseball, hockey)
Girls - use flower, butterfly, or hair bow beads.
You could also use Alphabet beads ... hmm ... there are 54 in the circle + 5 = 59 ... 26 letters times 2 = 52 ... guess u'd have to repeate some of 'em ... or just spell Christ in the middle 5 decades ... ooo ... God between the cross & Mary.
Is it something that people expect mostly elderly ladies to do? I know that even so called catholic clergy has viewed a child doing this as odd. Even such acts as carrying a rosary around.
I think that it is beautiful. I learned to pray the rosary when I was 8, I didn't carry it around because I thought my friends would make fun of me, but if this child desires to do that, then my hat goes off to him/her that child is stronger than I was at its age. Children used to carry them around all the time, now I suppose religion isn't cool. But if more children carried their rosaries with them, I bet the playground would be a much better place.
God Bless
Christians, can we vow to pray the rosary daily to obtain the graces and favors of the Blessed Virgin? It takes about 1% of your day.
The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.
3. The rosary shall be a powerful armour against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the rosary shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the rosary.
10. The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary.
12. All those who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only son Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my rosary is a great sign of predestination.
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan) Imprimatur: +Patrick J. Hayes, D.D., Archbishop of New York
The Rosary, a mini bible of Jesus' and Mary's life. Do I believe in the power of the Rosary, I sure do. As St Pio said, It is a weapon against evil.
Has it worked in my life, It sure has. When a doctor says that your daughter cannot have children because of the cemo her husband was on, and now she is going to have a baby, Yes, I would say it worked. There is no way you can convince me other wise. Also praying the Rosary calms me and gives me patience, with everyday occurances that happen and make you nervous.
What harm is it doing if I feel great after doing my Rosary. It doesn't kill you and if you get all the promises that it awards you, how lucky for me. How about you when you find out that you should have done the Rosary, when you meet Jesus face to face and He asks why didn't you call on My Mother with Her Rosary. What will you say then.
It is said, If you believe and it isn't true, you have lost nothing, If you believe and it is true, you have gained everything. Where will you be if it is true, and I'm betting it is. God bless you.
Please Help Me. I can't seem to find any biblical basis for the following statements. Where are these promises found in the holy scriptures, the bible. Help me understand.

Rowan, thank you for for thoughtful answers.
In Luke 1:28 where Mary is said to be "Full of Grace" does that give special status? In Eph1:6 the same pronouncement is given to all believers.
Your James 5:16 scripture is not germane to just Mary. It is for all the believers to pray for one another and to confess their sins to one other to build up and strengthen and support the church body. These prayers were not offered to the dead, but to living members of the first church.
Pronouncements by a Pope or Catholic tradition started 900 years ago is not biblical. The bible was finally completed by the Apostle John in 95 AD and is the only true foundation of how to live the Christian life. Anything else is man-made just like how the apostate ancient Jewish leaders tried to burden the Jewish people with made-up man-made rules and regulations to manipulate and subjugate the people.
That's just it. There is no reference in the Bible for Prayer to anyone but God, or anything about the Rosary.
The Roman Catholic Church believes that Spiritual Truth comes from 3 things: Bible, The Pope, and Catholic Traditions. However, the Bible clearly states that the Bible is the only source of spiritual truth.
Almost all other Christian Denominations (Baptist, Lutheran, etc.) believe that the Bible is the only source of Spiritual Truth. We believe that the World was made pure when Jesus died, and all we have to do is to believe what Jesus did (Not just say we believe, but actually believe.)
