Is praying the rosary Scriptural?

s praying the rosary Scriptural? Are there any aspects of the Rosary prayer that do not agree with the Bible?

While much of what the prayer of the rosary contains is scriptural, the whole second half of the “Hail Mary” and portions of the “Hail, Holy Queen” are blatantly unbiblical

Iomi yu are incorrect

Catholics do not pray for saints to answer their prayers....they prayer that the saints will take their prayers to god so he may answer them...

It's like if yu and yur friend have a fight yu could get a mutual friend to help you coz he would be on better terms with your friend.

The rosary is not scriptural....the rosary is a form of dovotion......making up a prayer and saying whatever is ok....but the rosary gets people closer to god..it shows god that we love him enough to master such long praer.

The sections of the rosary all agree with the bible.....

the rosary is a form of prayer that shows mary how a gracious we are...Mary the Immculate....seen as queen of heaven in a figuriative kind of way...

Are there scriptural references for The Mysteries for praying the rosary?

Seriously, if you are going to talk down to people, save your breath.
If you get off by trying to make other people feel small, then start your own chatroom doing it.

The people who left rude comments here obviously have no common sense and know nothing about the Catholic faith.

Sometimes, a question is just a question, and there is NO SUCH THING as a stupid question.... so think about that next time you open your mouth to ask something. Someone else might think you are stupid but guess what, if they have a heart they will treat you with respect. So treat others the way you want to be treated.

Everyone else, thank you.

Yes there is. After all praying the Rosary is praying the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost
(Matt 28:19; cf. John 14:13-14; Acts 2:21)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Lev 5:5; Neh 1:5-9; Dan 9:3-19; James 5:16)

Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
(Matt 6:9-13; cf. Luke 11:2-4; Mark 14:36; Gal 4:6)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. (Luke 2:14; cf. Rev 4:11; 5:11-14)

O my Jesus, forgive us of our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls into heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. (Luke 1:28)
Blessed art thou among women (Luke 1:41-42a,Luke 1:48),
Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus (Luke 1:42b)
Holy Mary, Mother of God (Luke 1:43)
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen (Luke 2:35, John 2:3-5)

  • A bScriptural Rosary/b Testament...

The Holy Rosary of Our Blessed Mother is a powerful prayer. Please help us promote the rosary by participating both in this blog and the scriptural rosary website. Remember to keep the mission and our participants in your prayers. If you have a blog, please include a link to this site and the scriptural rosary site. By doing so, you will increase our rankings on Google and Yahoo and therefore make more people aware of the sites and their mission. Thanks! I began praying the scriptural rosary in 2001 and now I definitely become part of each mystery. The time needed to achieve a devout prayer increased and I found the scriptural rosary a rewarding way to begin each day. One unusual thing happened when I started reciting this meaningful rosary. Prior to praying the scriptural rosary, I...

While praying a scriptural rosary, one reads a short verse or passage from scripture before praying a vocal prayer. I have composed those following to where one would read a short passage (in most cases, as short as a single verse) before praying each Hail Mary. Each passage from scripture is to provide and idea - or 'point' - on which to meditate while one vocally prays each Hail Mary. For information on how to pray the rosary in general, see this helpful guide . There are two scriptural rosaries posted here; the first provides scriptural verses which focus more directly on the events in the lives of Jesus and Mary on which the rosary's meditations are based, while the second provides more varied scriptural meditations by providing, for example, more Old Testament connections to the mysteries...
